Ze provides some insightful commentary along with the comedy, and concludes that “designers” who have created the rules that surround good taste are in many ways threatened by this mass experimentation. I on the other hand am a crap designer and therefore am entirely nonplussed.

ThiscityrocksHell yeah it does, this weekly vlog/video podcast began a month ago covering the music scene in Vancouver and is now gone Canada wide. That sound you hear is the marketplace begging for something like this in every major city. The indie music scene in any city is a wonderful, but often opaque place, anything that brings the vibrance, and passion closer to that niche audience is an amazing opportunity. These guys are pioneers, but IMHO the opportunity is this:

Man I loves me some robot chicken and yet, for all its indie feel the site still feels like something produced for the WB. Take the Robot Chicken vlog, a collection of window media files (not working when I went there) on a flash page, not comments, no trackback, not really a vlog guys. Seriously, i would love these guys to get into social media where they would be totally embraced as rock stars. C’mon guys, we love the work, there is a community of creative people out there that you can engage with and create even bigger fans than you already have.
